PE-4-ME: Radical Wellness Program |
A Brain-Friendly Learning Approach to Physical Education |
PE-4-Me is
an integrated approach to learning physical activities that helps children
become physically active and healthy for a lifetime.
It is a marriage of many powerful concepts and discoveries--including the role of movement, rhythms, emotions, positive thinking, patterns, environments, music, gender assessment, enrichment, and the absence of threat--into a joyful educational environment that ensures optimal learning success. |

Orientation | PE-4-ME is educational & fun! |
Considering
recent brain research on movement and learning, now there is even more
reason to get kids moving! We all know that fitness is good for us;
but for kids, if it's not fun, it's not worth the effort.
The primary focus of PE-4-ME is to have a curriculum that works for both students and teachers. By a curriculum that works, I mean one that is totally fun, meets the California State and National Standards, and works in our "wild and crazy" culture of today. |
Curriculum | PE-4-ME is well-rounded! |
The curriculum involves themes or concepts rather than specific sports. For example, rather than teach two to four weeks of soccer or basketball skills, the program teaches two weeks of the concept of cardiovascular endurance, a week of the concept of agility and reaction time, or a week on the concept of striking with implements. All movement activities in the class reinforce the "theme" of the week. |
